In its 6 am update, the disaster agency tallied a total of 1979 injuries and 28049 damaged housing structures in one of the worst weather disasters to hit the country this year. Seven regions in Mindanao and Visayas were affected in the devastation, comprising 13 provinces, eighth cities, 52 towns and 766 barangays, with over 600000 affected populations, the NDRRMC added. As of this posting, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Department of Health, Philippine Coast Guard, and Philippine Red Cross deployed over 1000 personnel in the badly-hit cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. The estimated cost of damages to infrastructure and agriculture amounted to over P1.03 billion. Thousands of residents in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan are still in several evacuation centers in the area, the state agency added. Meantime, the government is preparing safe relocation sites for the victims of the tropical storm.
